How do I crochet on to a fastened off piece of work?
I'm following a pattern for a little bird brooch. I've made the bird and fastened it off. But now I need to add some stitches on top of that, in another colour for the bird's wing.
How do I do that? How do I draw the yarn through the loops without it going over the edge of the bird? The wing has to be in the middle.

You put the second color yarn behind the bird, poke your hook through, and pick up the second color. Bring it through the piece in a loop, and then repeat. Practice a little and it will make good sense.
