I guess i should start with a little background info? well im 14, i was sexually abused when young, my mum might have cancer, my family is at each others throats, and ive just broken up with my boyfriend(when i say broken up, i mean he found someone else and i only found out via facebook[y]).
so yeah, i guess theres my reasons why, i don't know why. i dont even know if this is self harming? i keep engraving hearts, and words into my body. i have a heart on my arm and hand. and i have my ex's initials on my side. i regret it as soon as i do it, but i cant stop. i find it a relief. ive tried alternating to punching walls or something else, but it don't work. i just can't stop. why am i doing this:( why cant i stop? i feel like im going insane? i know teenagers have down days, but i used to be so happy, and now im depressed all the time, everyones noticing my change. i have to hide my arms, what can i do:(!?

Sounds like you have an awful lot to cope with. Cutting or otherwise causing physical pain, causes a release of endorphins, feel good chemicals that the body produces which act on the brain to relieve pain. This relieves the pain of cutting AND the emotional pain. Everytime it works, the urge to do it again gets stronger.
Couple of things to think about:
1- Talk to somebody, a counselor at school, a favorite teacher, the family doctor, an older sibling, anyone who will listen to you. Talking has the power to ease some of the stress you are under.
It sounds like the abuse happened some time ago, but if it is still eating at you, then you need to talk to someone. Don't feel guilty over someone else's sin! You are NOT at fault!
2- Make sure the cuts don't get infected. You will probably have a little bit of scarring from cutting, depending on how deep you are going, but infection will make it worse, and could lead to serious illness.
3- Understand the difference between stressed-out and crazy. You don't sound crazy to me, just horribly stressed.
4- Cancer is not necessarily fatal - I had it in '02 and wasn't expected to live six months, but I'm still here!
5- The jerk who let you find out on Facebook is not worth hurting yourself over. Try to be thankful that you found out what kind of person he is before you were married with a houseful of children! There is bound to be someone out there who is better than him!
6- Your brain is still growing. While you are physically changing from child to adult, you are also changing mentally. This takes a while and just like a baby falls when learning to walk, we have some strange thoughts and feelings during this stage of life. This will eventually ease as you get a little older - not overnight, but gradually.
7- You are not alone. A lot of people have gone through the stuff you are going through and survived. You can make it!
