I feel it's an absolute waste of money.

$7+ million for something she's not even showing up for, think about or even care much about. But let's say 2012 is going to be a tight year since they wanna cut funding from vital programs that actually help people and spend it on something frivolous. Absolutely wasteful.

I can understand that it is more difficult for the UK to displace the monarchy and replace it with a more rational system but I cannot understand why Canada has to find this difficult. To owe your allegiance to an unelected, non-Canadian born woman who lives in another continent is just plain bizarre.

No other Canadian will be presented such gifts to the Queen cause apparently, her birth makes her superior. How lame. See already has far more than she deserves, requires or ever will require in the future.

Of course Mr. Harper won't spend this money on health care, infrastructure or defense, that'd make too much sense!
