very exclusive shop windows. I still use only Odalisque (having tried Joy & many exclusive perfumes). It makes me feel "Happy" even after all these years. I find I use the perfume oil more than the perfume. It seems to retain the original Odalisque aroma. I use it in many different ways, as a perfume oil instead of perfume (it seems to last longer during an evening). I also use it in the bottom of potpourrie arrangements I make - soaking a piece of cotton and replacing it as needed. I love putting it all around the house so that the whole house has this lovely scent. I have a brass perfume oil burner (from I. Magnin years ago) and I use the oil in the burner also.
No other perfume compares & when I found I could no longer purchase it I just didn’t know what to do. I found the company that had purchased the formula from Nettie Rosenstein company and have ordered it from them for several years. The problem is that they have not advertised this fabulous perfume & I cannot understand why they purchased the ownership. They watered down the lotion - originally it was so thick it was more like cream than a lotion. I natually complained to no avail.
Now they tell me the talc or bath powder is no longer available. They say all they have left is spray perfume.
I see that on the internet there are companies who are selling the lotion, powder, bath oil, etc. I can’t wait to try them to see if it is the "real thing". If it is I will be supremely happy. No other NEW perfume compares with this romantic, sexy, Odalisque - it definitely lives up to its name! In the 50"s I don’t think there was a woman, young lady or teen who didn’t use Odalisque in Cincinnati.
I have used all their products, including guest soap, bath soap, Bath Oil, Champagne bath oil, hand cream,
lotion, perfume sets, purse spray, solid perfume in a gold compact (fantastic for small evening bags), etc.
You cannot go wrong as long as you are getting the "Real" Odalisque.
