What are these bugs I've found in my apartment?
About a month ago and again last night I found an icky black bug in the bathroom in my first-floor apartment in D.C. I've never seen a bug like this before: it had an round, slightly oval black body and looooong antenna. It also had long bent legs which weren't really thick. When I tried to hit with a shoe it hopped all over the place. I don't think it could fly (and I couldn't see wings). My fiance thinks it's a roach or a cricket, but I've seen roaches and I thought you usually heard crickets before you saw them. I looked at pictures online but nothing seemed exactly the same... anyone have any ideas? should I be concerned??
Go online and look under 'bush crickets'. They are fast jumpers and have very long antennae. Some species cannot fly - and this would make identification easier.
They only live outdoors, and this one accidently got in through your window.
