Split Ends-Don't Know Why?
I have terribly corse hair (mostly the hair by my neck and ears) and tons of split ends. I NEVER straighten my hair, or pin/tie it up, or anything else harmful to it. I'll I do is wash it, condition it very well, brush it, and then I let it be. It seems to be sooo dry and I don't think there's any reason for it to be like that. Is there any reason for it? Is it because I don't drink enough water or something?
Are you brushing it while it's wet? That causes breakage. If so, you should just comb through it with a wide-tooth comb to detangle while it's wet. And if you're washing every day, you may want to cut back to every other day, which is what I had to do and the results have been amazing. And make sure you're using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and try letting the conditioner soak in for a while before you rinse it out. Also, silk pillowcases or high-thread-count pillows are best for your hair because they allow hair to glide across instead of get stuck up on them and break. You might also want to invest in a leave-in conditioner of some kind. Also, a visit to your salon may be helpful, because your stylist may know what else to recommend.
