What electric guitar should I use for blues?
I want to start a blues band in a few years once I've got my skills up some more, so I was wondering what people thought. I want to sound like my favourite blues guitarists and then develop my own tone and style.
I could
--buy a quality Stratocaster for the Hendrix and SRV sound (I'm not a big fan of the Telecaster twang),

One of those coil-tap guitars would be awesome I've played one before, or a strat with humbuckers and single coils is also cool.
If you have already got a good guitar and you are happy with it then stick with it. It is not what guitar you have got, it is how you play it. Two top blues guitarists for example, Eric Clapton - Stratocaster, and Gary Moore - Les Paul. Two totally different quality guitars and yet both more than adequate for the blues. The blues will come from you not your guitar.
